Mi Farm Network is for Real Farms, Real Food, Real People. We support independently owned farms, homesteads, roadside stands, CSAs, farmers' markets, and farms that host agricultural events, all offering their own farm-grown products. We value the diverse traditions, techniques, and cultures that shape agriculture, as we also welcome all ideas, experiences, and contributions.

Mi Farm Network exists to promote sustainable farming, strengthen local food systems, provide healthier food options, and support economic growth while embodying the true spirit of “Local Supporting Local” in our home state of Michigan and beyond. We are built on long-standing relationships, transparency, and practical support rooted in real farm needs. 

Our customized Interactive Map is the heart of Mi Farm Network. Each location pin holds a Farm Member’s detailed profile, provided to us by each Farm Member. The Interactive Map's comprehensive filters allow consumers to easily and quickly search by location or product to find their local farms for direct purchase. All sales remain 100 percent with the farm. 

The Mi Farm Network Interactive Map is not a passive listing. Consumers can not only search easily and quickly by location or product, but we also work diligently to actively guide an established, engaged, and rapidly growing consumer base to the Map through word of mouth, digital and legacy media, in-person events, and community relationships.

The goal is not to list farms. The goal is to send people to them.

Yes. Farm profiles can easily be updated as needed. We understand farms change with seasons, availability, and growth. 

Just save the link to the Profile form, which you will recieve after you have submitted your Registration Form, fill it out as needed with updated information, and submit it to us.

Mi Farm Network is guided by its three Core Initiative Pillars: Connecting, Supporting, and Developing, all working in unison to connect farms and their communities across the US and Canada. Through these Core Initiatives, we promote sustainable farming, support economic growth, and increase access to healthier farm-to-table food, all while helping local farms thrive and building resilient communities. 

The Connecting Pillar provides farm members with opportunities to connect directly with consumers through Mi Farm Network’s Interactive Map, interviews, and podcasts. It also helps farms reach wholesale buyers and participate in virtual farmers’ markets, and more. This Pillar encourages “local supporting local” engagement between Farm Members and their communities. 

The Supporting Pillar directs consumers, community members, and network participants through media features, marketing tools, and community events to the opportunities and resources created through the Connecting and Developing Pillars. It strengthens connections, ensures engagement, and helps the Network function smoothly; builds relationships, and maximizes opportunities.  

The Developing Pillar focuses on youth, community members, and first-time farmers interested in agriculture and self-reliance. It encourages participants to engage in activities that promote growth through scholarships, established farm mentorships, hands-on education, food distribution, farm emergency support, evacuation assistance, and more.  

Farm Members receive placement on the Mi Farm Network's Interactive Map. Each Map pin holds a customized farm profile with direct contact and purchasing information that can be updated as needed.

Farm Members can also receive chosen or needed support, or participate in community support, through the Three Core Initiative Pillars. 

All sales stay one hundred percent with the farm. Support through the Core Initiative Pillars increases farm visibility, strengthens community connections, and helps build a more resilient local food system for everyone. 

Mi Farm Network's Farm Members pay one flat annual fee that provides full access to the Interactive Map and all Core Initiative Pillar services, except for custom website builds.

There are no commissions and no percentage taken from sales.

Founding Farm Members can join now for $75 for the first year.
The second year renews at the standard $120 flat rate.
Founding Farm Member status is always retained. 

One hundred percent of Membership fees go toward maintaining the Network, supporting the Core Initiatives, and creating more opportunities that help farms succeed.

No. Farm Members only need to afford their annual Membership fee. All Core Initiative services are included, except for the option of a custom website build if a farm chooses to request one. 

No. Farm Membership does not require volunteer hours, shifts, or labor. We do welcome Farm Members to share their knowledge, insight, and guidance. As Mi Farm Network grows, participation in community programs will always be optional and also very welcomed. 

To join, submit your basic farm information through the registration form. Once received, your Map pin will be established, and you will be emailed a comprehensive profile to complete and submit at your convenience.

Mi Farm Network is based in northern Michigan, which will always be our first state for the implementation of everything we put in place; other than the Interactive Map, which will expand beyond Michigan right from the start.  

Once a state reaches at least 500 participating farms, we will establish an in-state support structure and roll out the Core Initiative Pillar services as they are ready to provide solid, ongoing support. 

Mi Farm Network is sustained entirely through Membership fees. One hundred percent of Membership fees go toward maintaining the Network, supporting the Core Initiatives, and creating opportunities that help farms succeed. 

A Founding Farm Member (currently available for a limited time) joins Mi Farm Network during the initial growth phase at a discounted first-year rate of $75. After the first year, their membership renews at the standard $120 flat annual fee.  

Founding Farm Members keep their status permanently, ensuring early recognition and priority placement for receiving news, updates, and discounts when available. They are the first to be seen by consumers and can help shape Mi Farm Network, if they choose, by providing input, guidance, and feedback during each phase of its establishments.  

Farm Members join at the standard $120 annual fee. Although they receive the same support as Founding Farm Members, they will not receive the Founding Farm Member status, early visibility opportunities, or access to early news updates, announcements, or discounts. While they still have a voice in Mi Farm Network, they do not have as strong of opportunities to influence Mi Farm Network's development during all its initial phases of growth.  

Being a Founding Farm Member is not about extra work or requirements. It is about early participation, recognition, and helping to set a solid foundation and paths to support and strengthen farms and communities for years to come.
