Mi Farm Network’s Three Core Initiative Pillars

Mi Farm Network is guided by its three Core Initiative Pillars: Connecting, Supporting, and Developing, all working in unison to connect farms and their communities across the US and Canada. Through these Core Initiatives, we promote sustainable farming, support economic growth, and increase access to healthier farm-to-table food, all while helping local farms thrive and building resilient communities.

The Connecting Pillar provides farm members with opportunities to connect directly with consumers through Mi Farm Network’s Interactive Map, interviews, and podcasts. It also helps farms reach wholesale buyers and participate in virtual farmers’ markets, and more. This Pillar encourages “local supporting local” engagement between Farm Members and their communities.

The Supporting Pillar directs consumers, community members, and network participants through media features, marketing tools, and community events to the opportunities and resources created through the Connecting and Developing Pillars. It strengthens connections, ensures engagement, and helps the Network function smoothly; builds relationships, and maximizes opportunities. 

The Developing Pillar focuses on youth, community members, and first-time farmers interested in agriculture and self-reliance. It encourages participants to engage in activities that promote growth through scholarships, established farm mentorships, hands-on education, food distribution, farm emergency support, evacuation assistance, and more.
